1. Compulsory Length Meters, Actual Net Weight
The Formula to Calculate the length meters of steel coils:
1000÷density of steel (7.85g/cm3)÷thickness÷width=length (m/ton)
Eg1. GI 0.12mm x 914mm steel coil: 1000÷7.85÷0.12÷0.914=1161.45m per ton
Eg2. GI 0.15mm x 1250mm steel coil: 1000÷7.85÷0.15÷1.25=679.40m per ton
There are suppliers who provide you 0.15mm thickness if you order 0.12mm, the quantity of pieces will be 235pcs shortage per ton.
There are suppliers who provide you 0.14mm thickness if you order 0.15mm, the weight will be shortage though the quantity of sheet is same.
2. Request the price of Coil rather than sheet
The cost of process coil into sheet is about 25-30usd per ton, ask the price of coils then plus the process fee, it's the sheet price.
